AASHTO Statement Regarding COVID-19
Please know that AASHTO’s first priority is the health, safety and well-being of our attendees, volunteers and staff attending any AASHTO meetings. We continue to monitor the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and World Health Organization’s statements and guidance closely. Currently, consideration for cancellation or postponement of upcoming AASHTO meetings as a result of COVID-19 is being made on a case by case basis. AASHTO’s standard meeting cancellation policy is in effect. Should the situation change, we will issue an update on this page and adjust our cancellation policy, if appropriate. AASHTO Cancellation Policy for Meeting Registration Regarding COVID-19
Any attendee who had planned to attend an AASHTO Meeting but can no longer do so due to travel restrictions imposed by the United States government or their home country is eligible to receive a full refund and can do so by contacting AASHTO’s Director of Meetings and Member Services, Monica Russell. For those who have registered but cancel due to personal concerns about traveling or institutional / employer restrictions, the standard cancellation refund policy remains in place.
If you are scheduled to present in any session and are unable to attend, please contact the assigned meeting planner.

AASHTO holds three annual meetings: the Washington Briefing, Spring Meeting and Annual Meeting, along with many standing and subcommittee meetings. The Board of Directors meets twice a year, usually in May during our Spring Meeting and again in the fall during the Annual Meeting to discuss, review and approve official positions on legislative proposals, the development of official policy statements, membership dues, adoption of the Association’s strategic plan, changes in the Associations Articles of Incorporation and bylaws, the establishment of the Standing Committees, Subcommittees, Special Committees, and all other policy matters pertaining to the operation or activities of the Association.
The AASHTO Washington Briefing provides valuable insights and information for members to take to their respective congressional delegation as well as back home to their state officials and constituents. Meetings give important access to the people working with the Administration and Congress on issues that impact state departments of transportation. The conference serves as a unique experience that combines access with information.
The AASHTO Annual Spring Meeting offers transportation executives the opportunity to network and share the latest in industry policies and innovations. Hosted by the home state of the AASHTO President, this meeting includes informational sessions on relevant industry topics.
The AASHTO Annual Meeting is a week-long event convened to address a broad range of transportation issues. Several AASHTO committees – including the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors – come together during the annual meeting, which selects a topical theme each year.
